a example how to construct a solar filter for the 6 inch GSO RC
telescope using the Baader planetarium solar filter film:
The
bases is a square piece of plywood with a round hole. The Baader film
is clamped on it with pieces of wood and M4 bolts. The two extra bolts
are mounted for protection covers.
The sun finder is made with two
pieces wood, the first has a hole of 3mm, the second has a simple
cross mark.
The setup before additional aluminium folie was installed:
Note on the photos below the additional aluminium foil glued on the wood to prevent heating
of the wooden construction and possibile poor seeing.
